ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council held a ceremony at its March 25 meeting honoring members of the Fire and Police departments for their quick response to a stabbing.

WARREN — The Warren Community Center auditorium was bustling on March 25 as many in attendance at the City Council meeting waited to comment on the future of marijuana dispensaries in the city. The Warren City Council passed a resolution to change its marijuana ordinance with a 5-2 vote.

METRO DETROIT — A Warren man was arraigned in the 37th District Court March 12 for his alleged role in multiple thefts, which targeted vehicles in Warren.  He faces similar charges in Washington Township.

DETROIT — A Warren man was sentenced to a year in federal prison for his role in painting racist graffiti on a predominantly Black church in Roseville.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council recognized retiring Roseville Police Department reserve officers John Palimino, Lonnie Scheuer, Patrick Veo and Gary Lyons at its meeting March 11. Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin presented each member with a baseball cap and a plaque.

CENTER LINE — An extensive update to 10 Mile Road was set to begin March 15. At Center Line’s City Council meeting on March 3, City Manager Dennis Champine gave an update after attending a pre-construction meeting with the Macomb County Department of Roads.

WARREN — A Warren police officer involved in a high-speed crash that left two dead appeared in 37 District Court March 6.

WARREN — Officers responding to a domestic violence call on March 10 shot a 41-year-old Warren man, who died from his injuries at the hospital. According to a press release from the Warren Police Department, officers were dispatched at 9:58 p.m.

WARREN — Laughter can help pull us through the most difficult parts of life. A comedy benefit is being planned that organizers hope will provide some levity and help families dealing with the strain of childhood cancer.

WARREN — Supporters of Ukraine stood on a muddy patch along Ryan Road, holding signs and waiving the country’s blue and yellow flags on March 4. They sang patriotic songs as cars drove by, overwhelmingly honking in support with the occasional detractor.

WARREN — A Detroit police officer was arraigned in the 37th District Court March 4 after he allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a girl from Warren. According to Macomb County prosecutors, Earl Raynard Anderson Jr., 37, allegedly sent text messages to a 12-year-old girl Feb. 22.
