DETROIT — A Warren man was sentenced to a year in federal prison for his role in painting racist graffiti on a predominantly Black church in Roseville.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council recognized retiring Roseville Police Department reserve officers John Palimino, Lonnie Scheuer, Patrick Veo and Gary Lyons at its meeting March 11. Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin presented each member with a baseball cap and a plaque.

WARREN — A Warren police officer involved in a high-speed crash that left two dead appeared in 37 District Court March 6.

WARREN — Officers responding to a domestic violence call on March 10 shot a 41-year-old Warren man, who died from his injuries at the hospital. According to a press release from the Warren Police Department, officers were dispatched at 9:58 p.m.

WARREN — A Detroit police officer was arraigned in the 37th District Court March 4 after he allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a girl from Warren. According to Macomb County prosecutors, Earl Raynard Anderson Jr., 37, allegedly sent text messages to a 12-year-old girl Feb. 22.

ROSEVILLE — A Detroit Police Department officer was arraigned on a misdemeanor Feb. 24 in connection with the death of a motorcyclist last August.

ROSEVILLE — A new gas station and convenience store is set to come to Roseville, replacing a long-vacant piece of the city’s history.

METRO DETROIT — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed two bills into law that headed off automatic changes to the state’s paid sick time and minimum wage on Feb. 21.
