BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department recently started participating in the Vulnerable or Impaired Person, or VIP, Enrollment Program, as a way to help individuals who are vulnerable or impaired return home safely.

BIRMINGHAM —Twelve local authors will gather at the Baldwin Public Library for the Bibliophile Bonanza 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Baldwin Public Library, 300 W. Merrill St.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Sea lampreys are the newest residents at the Cranbrook Institute of Science. The Great Lakes Fishery Commission provided the sea lampreys along with an enclosure and tank fittings for the exhibit.

BIRMINGHAM — Parking garages are not usually known for being aesthetically pleasing. Though the structural design of a parking garage is complex, there is often little to no interior design added to brighten up the gray concrete.

FRANKLIN — In November, voters will see a proposal to approve or deny a new liquor license in the village. Gray Dog Café LLC plans to open in 2025 and is requesting a Class C on-premises liquor license at its future location, 32644 Franklin Road.

BIRMINGHAM — Hear rock, jazz and classical music in the Birmingham Village Player’s emotional production of “Next to Normal.” The show will run Oct. 25-Nov. 10.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS —  Harry Potter fans will want to see “PUFFS” performed by St. Dunstan’s Theatre Guild Oct. 11-26.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Bloomfield Hills High School officials said students have come up with a way to make their big school feel small and supportive to its students.

BEVERLY HILLS — The Riverside Bridge in Beverly Hills is officially open after being closed since mid-July. This bridge is an integral part of many residents’ commutes to work and school between Evergreen and Southfield roads.
