WARREN — On March 15, a group of “Friends on a Mission” spent a Saturday performing a community service project designed to benefit Lincoln High School.

MACOMB COUNTY — For the first time in several years, Macomb Community College students will not see an increase in their tuition for the next academic year.

METRO DETROIT — With a chance the U.S. Department of Education could be dismantled, the Warren Education Association staged “walk-ins” March 19 at their buildings in the Warren Consolidated Schools district in support of preserving the department.

WARREN — The De La Salle Collegiate and Regina High School music departments will hold the second annual music competition for seventh and eighth grade students from 4-8 p.m. April 2. Students who register will be assigned a performance time.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville Public Library building will be closed to the public from March 31 through April 5.

WARREN — On March 8, 1974, four Mott High School students went out on the town for a night of pinball and teenage antics.

EASTPOINTE/WARREN — The ShamRock Jazz Orchestra will come in “swinging” March 29, and this time they’re bringing a special guest: drummer Danny Seraphine of the famed rock band Chicago.

EASTPOINTE — With the recent appointment of Jason Clark to fire chief, the Eastpointe Fire and Rescue Department promoted several other officers.

EASTPOINTE — The Eastpointe High School swimming pool is scheduled to open sometime this year, the city is getting a treatment court and other projects are planned in the upcoming months.

CENTER LINE — The smell of chicken noodle soup simmering on the stove — along with fresh rolls baking in the oven — led the way to Room J103 at Center Line High School Feb. 28.

WARREN — “Slide to the left. Slide to the right. Crisscross. Crisscross.” Doing the “Cha-Cha Slide” got people out onto the dance floor during the 15th annual senior prom March 5 inside the Fitzgerald Public Schools Neigebaur Administration Building.
