ROCHESTER HILLS — After leading the Rochester Adams varsity softball team to the regional championship game, it was an easy decision for the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association to name junior Ella McDonald first team all-state.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Super Bowl champion and Clinton Township Chippewa Valley High School graduate Sean Murphy-Bunting said his high school and community will always hold a special place in his heart.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/UTICA/STERLING HEIGHTS — As the Macomb County Coaches Hall of Fame welcomed 19 new inductees on May 25 during a celebratory event at the Mirage in Clinton Township, Utica Community Schools was well represented with six inductees to its name.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — A leader on both sides of the field, Drew Hill was a vital part of the Grosse Pointe North varsity baseball team’s state finals run that earned it a runner-up finish in the Division I state championship tournament.

DETROIT — The city of Detroit is set to have its shining moment in the professional golf world once more as the Rocket Mortgage Classic will return for its fourth year at Detroit Golf Club. The 156-man field will compete July 28-31.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Clinton Township Chippewa Valley High School baseball took a different approach to success this season.
