ROSEVILLE — Roseville High School has been patiently waiting to make a name for itself in the playoffs, with only eight appearances since 1989. Last year, the team made a statement by winning a district championship.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Eisenhower High School football is back. After a 3-13 record the past two seasons, Eisenhower (5-2) has returned to the powerhouse it once was during its 35 straight seasons without a losing record from 1985 to 2019

BIRMINGHAM — The 2021 Birmingham Seaholm football season was a far cry from the state semifinals team in 2019.

CENTER LINE — Center Line High School football has longed for the days of its 2002 season when the school saw its team go 9-2 and earn the program’s last playoff win.

ROCHESTER — In a commitment that consists of competing in one of the most difficult competitions in the world, four local women have strived to not only set goals, but inspire others along the way.

BERKLEY — Berkley High School’s varsity boys soccer season didn’t end the way coach Steve Wloszek or the team expected it to in 2021 after being the No. 1-ranked team in the state for the majority of the season.

METRO DETROIT — A rivalry usually captivated by the community in a free-spirited manner had a different feeling when Warren Regina and Bloomfield Hills Marian held their 41st annual powder puff football matchup on Sept. 17 at Hazel Park High School.
