SYLVAN LAKE — According to a press release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the body of an 84-year-old Sylvan Lake man was recovered Aug. 10 after his unattended boat was found drifting in the lake hours earlier.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Impaired driving crashes across Michigan are on the rise, a troubling statistic released in a study from Bridge Michigan, which also found that police across the state are not making as many arrests for drunk driving as they have in the past.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — According to a recent report, Michigan has some troubling statistics.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — At the primary election Aug. 6, residents in the greater West Bloomfield area had an opportunity to vote on elected races and a bond proposal.

OAKLAND COUNTY — On July 16, the city of Southfield sponsored a public demonstration of the latest road safety technology being piloted in Southfield and Oakland County, conducted by P3Mobility and the Road Commission for Oakland County at Lawrence Technological University.

OAKLAND COUNTY — The next election will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and voters should take note of a couple of deadlines before hitting the polls.
