BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Two men are facing charges after suspects broke into a bunch of cars and stole items in Bloomfield Township.

Marcus Hobson, 23, and Raymone Thomas, 40, were both arraigned in the 48th District Court.

Hobson was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle causing damage, receiving and concealing stolen property over $1,000 but less than $20,000, and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle to steal less than $200. His bond was set at $200,000 cash.

Thomas was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle causing damage, receiving and concealing stolen property over $1,000 but less than $20,000, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle to steal less than $200, and two counts of possession of a financial transactional device without consent. His bond was set at $300,000 cash.

Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 13, the Bloomfield Township Police Department received a number of calls reporting car break-ins throughout the township. Several victims reported that their windows had been smashed and various items had been stolen from their vehicles.

The suspect vehicle, a gray Jeep, was spotted by a road patrol officer near Woodward Avenue and Square Lake Road. The Jeep fled south after seeing a police cruiser, which attempted a traffic stop.

The suspect vehicle, which was not pursued further by police, reportedly lost a tire due to erratic driving and eventually came to a stop in Bloomfield Hills.

The two suspects fled on foot but were later caught and arrested by police.

Several items of stolen property were recovered from inside the Jeep, which was reportedly stolen Oct. 10 in Livonia, according to reports. Investigators said the men were responsible for several other larcenies in other jurisdictions between the time the Jeep was stolen and the two were arrested.

At press time, Hobson and Thomas were lodged at the Oakland County Jail and they had no attorneys on file.
