NOVI — A fire during the early morning Dec. 5 at the Country Cousin Mobile Home Park, off of Haggerty Road, south of 12 Mile Road, resulted in the loss of two mobile homes and damage to a third.

According to Assistant Novi Fire Chief John Martin, the Novi Fire Department was called to the mobile home park at 2:42 a.m. for a shed fire in the 27000 block of Barra Street. Martin said that crews were informed that flames were visible and that the fire had spread to a mobile home on Barra and a mobile home on Branton Street, which runs parallel to Barra. A third mobile home on Barra received thermal damage from the fire.

Martin said that no injuries were reported from the fire and the cause was under investigation. The displaced families were given rooms at the Hyatt Place, 46080 Grand River Ave. in Novi.

The Novi Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Farmington Hills, Commerce Township, Livonia and Plymouth Township fire departments. The Salem Township Fire Department covered the rest of the city during the fire.
