METRO DETROIT — Transportation Riders United will host its annual State of Transit program, inviting the public to hear what is going on in metro Detroit transit and what local officials have to say on the topic.

The event was created to bring together agency leaders, bus riders, advocates and elected leaders to talk about public transit. This year's confirmed guests include State Senator Mallory McMorrow, State Rep. Jason Morgan, Regional Transit Authority Director Ben Stupka, Detroit Department of Transportation Interim Director Michael Staley, SMART Deputy Manager Tiffany Gunter, People Mover Manager Robert Cramer and QLINE CEO Lisa Nuskowski.

The event begins with a VIP reception at 5 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. This is a hybrid event. The first 75 people to buy a ticket may attend in-person at TechTown Detroit, located at 440 Burroughs Street, in Detroit. The event will also be livestreamed on Zoom so everyone else can participate.

Tickets range from $5 to $75. Registration and the Zoom link can be found at www.detroittransit.org/category/events.

The live event will include food. More information including an agenda can be found at www.detroittransit.org.
