Stevens wins race for U.S. House District 11

OAKLAND COUNTY — According to unofficial results the morning of Nov. 8, with 99% of precincts reporting in Oakland County, Democrat Haley Stevens has won the race for the newly redrawn 11th District of the U.S. House of Representatives. 

Stevens took 222,840 votes, while her Republican opponent, Mark Ambrose, took 141,026 votes. There were 397 unassigned write-ins. 

The district covers much of Oakland County, including Oak Park, Ferndale, Huntington Woods and Berkley, Hazel Park, Royal Oak Township and Royal Oak, as well as Madison Heights, Clawson, Troy, Birmingham, Bloomfield, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and West Bloomfield, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake, Farmington and Farmington Hills.  

U.S. representatives earn a salary of $174,000.
