ST. CLAIR SHORES — Let it snow, let it snow let it snow! Holiday events are coming to St. Clair Shores.
Seasonal activities are set to begin at Blossom Heath Park, where organizers say art and music will combine into an unforgettable experience that includes food, performances, visits with Santa and activities for all ages.
The festivities are set to begin on Dec. 2 at Blossom Heath with the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, followed by a Christmas parade of decorated Jeeps on Dec. 3. The parade will end at the park.
Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Rob Spinazzola said, “There is something new each year at the ‘Tunnel of Lights’ event, which features entertainment nightly, between 5-9 p.m. until December 23. For instance, there may be a new light feature or unique musical act.”
“It’s all a part of the festive community experience,” Spinazzola said.
On Wednesdays during that period, there will be lights at the park but no activities. Hot cocoa will be offered for purchase Wednesday through Sunday.
“The events at the park are an example of the beautiful work that the city and community have contributed to making St. Clair Shores is unique,” Parks and Recreation Director Henry Bowman said.
Blossom Heath Park is located at 24800 Jefferson Ave., north of Nine Mile Road, and it encompasses approximately 18 acres. The beach house is heated and has family restrooms. There will also be fire pits on-site. A dinosaur play structure is new to the park.
