MACOMB TOWNSHIP — It’s been a long time coming for L’Anse Creuse High School-North wrestling, but North is back on top in the Macomb Area Conference’s Silver division.

FRASER — He was always the fastest kid around growing up, and it was in large part to his elite-level acceleration.

MACOMB COUNTY — The 2022 hockey season didn’t play out in the favor of the  teams representing Macomb Dakota High School and Chippewa Valley High School, but there was a distinct difference for both. Dakota struggled with an 8-15 season, and Chippewa Valley didn’t even have a team to put on the ice.

MADISON HEIGHTS — There were a lot of expectations surrounding Madison Heights Lamphere boys basketball going into this season and its veteran core of nine seniors.

FRASER — It was a tough ride in 2022 for the Fraser Ramblers.

STERLING HEIGHTS — There’s emphasizing a defensive mindset, and then there’s prioritizing the defensive unit night in and night out.

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Seaholm senior Grayson Davis earned first place at the Boys Oakland County Championship Dive Tournament Feb. 3 at Royal Oak Middle School.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Detroit Country Day hockey speaks for itself with its culture, its championships and the success it delivers each season.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Carrying a 18-19 record their past two seasons, North Farmington girls basketball was ready to come out of their shell.

WARREN — By every aspect of the 2022 season, Warren Lincoln’s 19-3 record was a success for the up-and-coming program, for everyone except Lincoln coach Wydell Henry and his guys.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — The story couldn’t be much sweeter for West Bloomfield girls basketball last season.

ROCHESTER — What’s become a constant now for Rochester Adams competitive cheer was never the case when Adams coach Brooke Miller took over back in 2014.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — A loss in the regional finals ended a monumental run for a Grosse Pointe North girls basketball team that earned 12 straight wins during the 2022 season.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — After an 11-11 season and a last-place finish in the Macomb Area Conference-Red division in 2022, Grosse Pointe South boys basketball has flipped the script this season.

BIRMINGHAM — While a lack of cold temperatures kept Birmingham United Ski off the slopes for a week more than usual to begin the season, the boys and girls teams have hit the snow like they never left.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — It’s a new-look squad for Bloomfield Hills gymnastics, but they’re still striving for the same success.
