SHELBY TOWNSHIP — As the winter chill settles in, the Shelby Township Library is inviting the public to join them for its annual Christmas Book Bundle sale.
The sale benefits the Friends of the Shelby Township Library and offers an array of carefully curated book bundles, each wrapped with holiday ribbons for sale.
Library staff say the bundles can make perfect gifts and offer a delightful surprise for readers of all ages. Bundles include different age ranges and genres such as mystery, romance or adventure.
"The holiday season is a special time at the library, and we're thrilled to bring joy to our community. The Christmas Book Bundle sale offers enchanting reads and supports our invaluable Friends of the Library,” Shelby Township Library Director Katie Ester said in a press release. “It's a wonderful time for families to come together and celebrate the season at the library."
The Christmas Book Bundle sale runs until Thursday, Dec. 21.
The Shelby Township Library also announced the return of its Letters to Santa program. Starting Nov. 27, children can visit the library's children's area and pen letters to Santa Claus.
Children can place their letters in a special mailbox at the library by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Behind the scenes, Santa's dedicated elves, in collaboration with the Kiwanis Club of Utica-Shelby Township, will work diligently to ensure that every child receives a personal response from the man in the red suit.
“The Christmas Book Bundle sale is a fantastic way for residents to support the library and its programs, showcasing the spirit of giving that defines our community,” Shelby Township Supervisor Rick Stathakis said in a press release. “The Letters to Santa program, in partnership with the Kiwanis Club, adds a special touch, bringing joy to the hearts of our youngest residents. These initiatives embody the season's essence, fostering a sense of togetherness and community spirit, making Shelby Township a wonderful place to call home."
In addition to the holiday programs, Ester said the library offers a warm and inviting space to escape from the winter chill.
“Whether you're seeking a quiet reading nook or planning a family outing, the Shelby Township Library is your go-to destination for holiday cheer,” Ester added. “Discover the joy of the season, surrounded by the warmth of community, engaging reads and the laughter of children delighting in the magic of the library. Visit the library this holiday season and make lasting memories in the heart of Shelby Township.”
