SOUTHFIELD — Only two lanes will be open northbound and southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) at M-102 (Eight Mile Road) until late December during the finalization of the interchange modernization project. 

ROYAL OAK — Paving of Mount Vernon Boulevard from Custer Avenue to the dead end was not approved by the City Commission in a 4-3 vote Nov. 11.

HUNTINGTON WOODS — The approval of a project that would install a new traffic signal in Huntington Woods has been postponed at least a month.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Sterling Heights police are alerting the public about a fatal accident that reportedly occurred along Utica Road, by Forester Street, not far from Hayes Road, Nov. 9.

MOUNT CLEMENS — As the Macomb County Department of Roads begins to fill its trucks with winter salt, department and county leadership announced a slate of construction projects for the coming year.

BERKLEY — A big road in Berkley is in line to get major improvements within the next couple of years.

BIRMINGHAM — Parking garages are not usually known for being aesthetically pleasing. Though the structural design of a parking garage is complex, there is often little to no interior design added to brighten up the gray concrete.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Another step in Sterling Heights’ traffic safety agenda is underway.

UTICA — Lane closures began Oct. 26 for the Van Dyke Avenue median project, which aims to eliminate the dangerous driving conditions that result from illegal left turns.

NOVI — A section of Interstate 96 was closed for nearly five hours Oct. 10 after a truck hauling gravel hit a large freeway sign and spilled gravel across the highway.

HUNTINGTON WOODS — The city of Huntington Woods has secured a grant to repair one of its roads.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — Grosse Pointe Farms officials got a look at what their original, voter-approved 2-mill road levy in 2020 has meant for the city, and what its renewal in November would mean for local road conditions, during a City Council meeting Oct. 14.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The final 2-mile stretch of the Garfield Road extension project is complete.

GROSSE POINTE CITY — Although some road projects in metro Detroit are still underway, Grosse Pointe City officials are already preparing for next year.

BEVERLY HILLS — The Riverside Bridge in Beverly Hills is officially open after being closed since mid-July. This bridge is an integral part of many residents’ commutes to work and school between Evergreen and Southfield roads.

BERKLEY — A stub street in Berkley will be closed indefinitely as the city looks to activate it for downtown usage.

FRASER — The bumpy network of roads in the Fraser Industrial Park moved closer to smoothing out at the Fraser City Council’s Sept. 12 meeting.

PLEASANT RIDGE — Pleasant Ridge’s City Commission approved a permanent change for two-sided parking on Sylvan Avenue.

WARREN — Mayor Lori Stone officially changed the name of Bunert Road from 11 Mile to Frazho roads to Lipari Way Sept. 10 to honor Lipari Foods and the family that has been committed to Warren for 30 years.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Among the multiple decisions that Farmington Hills residents will make this November, one is whether to renew a special tax rate for improvement, rehabilitation, repair and maintenance of public roads, streets and road drainage in the city.
