NOVI — The flex lanes on Interstate 96 in Oakland County are now open.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — St. Clair Shores residents from Frazho Street to Little Mack Avenue will experience ongoing construction this summer and extending into 2027 as aging gas infrastructure is replaced underground.

CENTER LINE — An extensive update to 10 Mile Road is set to start March 15. At the Center Line City Council meeting March 3, City Manager Dennis Champine gave an update after attending a pre-construction meeting with the Macomb County Department of Roads.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — The St. Clair Shores City Council viewed a presentation at their meeting on Feb. 3 about an upcoming sewer project on Jefferson Avenue between Nine Mile Road and 10 Mile Road.

FERNDALE — Sidewalk reconstruction at several parks and an improvement project on Hilton Road are on the horizon this year in Ferndale.

FRASER — A special assessment district typically carries with it some unavoidable discomfort.

OAKLAND COUNTY — On March 1, the third and final phase of the “Restore the Reuther” project will commence, as eastbound and westbound Interstate 696 between Lahser Road and Interstate 75 will be rebuilt in 2025-2026.

ROYAL OAK — The Detroit Lions excitement is real leading up to the Super Bowl, and one Royal Oak business owner is hoping to leave the Lions’ mark on a street sign. 

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Jefferson Avenue will be under construction starting in February as the city adds another pipe to reduce combined sewer overflows into the lake.

TROY — Residents of the city of Troy may expect snow emergencies to be declared to allow for the roadways to be plowed during the current winter season.

MACOMB COUNTY — Logs, railroad ties and tires are items you might expect to find at a dump. But these items gummed up the works in a pipe that drains stormwater, contributing to persistent flooding on a road in Clinton Township and Fraser.

HUNTINGTON WOODS — The Huntington Woods City Commission has given its approval for the installation of a new traffic signal on 11 Mile Road.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The North Branch of the Clinton River slices through Macomb Township, serving as the main geographic feature to break up the township’s otherwise contiguous 36.4 square miles.

SOUTHFIELD — Only two lanes will be open northbound and southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) at M-102 (Eight Mile Road) until late December during the finalization of the interchange modernization project. 

ROYAL OAK — Paving of Mount Vernon Boulevard from Custer Avenue to the dead end was not approved by the City Commission in a 4-3 vote Nov. 11.

HUNTINGTON WOODS — The approval of a project that would install a new traffic signal in Huntington Woods has been postponed at least a month.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Sterling Heights police are alerting the public about a fatal accident that reportedly occurred along Utica Road, by Forester Street, not far from Hayes Road, Nov. 9.

MOUNT CLEMENS — As the Macomb County Department of Roads begins to fill its trucks with winter salt, department and county leadership announced a slate of construction projects for the coming year.

BERKLEY — A big road in Berkley is in line to get major improvements within the next couple of years.

BIRMINGHAM — Parking garages are not usually known for being aesthetically pleasing. Though the structural design of a parking garage is complex, there is often little to no interior design added to brighten up the gray concrete.
