Police responding to domestic call find man dead in Eastpointe

EASTPOINTE — A domestic incident in Eastpointe Nov. 16 left one person dead, according to police.

At approximately 9:49 p.m. Nov. 16, Eastpointe police officers were dispatched to the 18000 block of Holland Avenue, near Nine Mile and Kelly roads, in reference to a domestic incident in progress with shots fired, according to the Eastpointe Police Department.

When officers arrived, they observed a 34-year-old man lying face down in the grass, deceased, the department said.

An investigation revealed that there was an altercation between the 34-year-old man and his girlfriend — the owner of the home — and her 15-year-old son, police said.

As of Nov. 17, the department had two people in custody and had collected evidence at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and will determine if charges will be filed, the department said.
