Police: No injuries in Macomb Mall incident, suspect still wanted

ROSEVILLE — There were no injuries reported after shots were fired into the air in the parking lot outside Macomb Mall in Roseville Oct. 16.

According to a press release by the Roseville Police Department, officers were dispatched to Macomb Mall, located in the 32000 block of Gratiot Avenue in Roseville, at approximately 12:55 p.m. Sunday for a report of shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they were informed that an altercation had occurred between two groups of people, which escalated as they exited the mall, the press release states. Once outside, one individual produced a firearm and fired several shots.

According to Roseville Chief of Police Ryan Monroe, the suspect fired the shots into the air from the parking lot outside Dick’s Sporting Goods.

There were no injuries, police stated.

Roseville police, in addition to the St. Clair Shores, Eastpointe and Clinton Township police departments and the Fraser Department of Public Safety, were able to secure the mall. However, the suspect could not be located, the press release states.

Police described the suspect as a Black man between 18 and 25 years old who was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. As of Monday morning, the suspect was not in custody, Monroe said.
