TROY — Four suspects have been arrested in connection with what police are calling an attempted home invasion that took place Feb. 8.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Police have arrested three men they believe are responsible for hundreds of thefts across metro Detroit, including 25 stolen cars. 

TROY — After a lengthy legal process with the IRS, the city of Troy has been required to alter the retirement incentive plan for its Fire Department employees — a turn of events that has some firefighters worried.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A man accused of raping a teenage coworker at a Sterling Heights restaurant in 2020 was recently found guilty of the act, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A crew of suspected car thieves had a less than stellar time completing a heist at the Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, near 17 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue, early in the morning of Jan. 17, according to law enforcement authorities.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — According to a Facebook post from Jan. 1 by the St Clair Shores Fire Department, the number of runs they took increased from 8,405 in 2021 to 8,720 in 2022.

BERKLEY — A St. Clair Shores woman has been arrested for allegedly embezzling many thousands of dollars from her former place of employment.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — According to a press release dated Jan. 24, a Detroit man who photographed his sexual assaults of a young child and forced an adult to engage in prostitution was sentenced to life in prison, according to U.S. Attorney Dawn N. Ison.

NOVI — Novi police are seeking the public’s help locating a stolen Chihuahua puppy and the dog thief.

TROY — A suspect has been charged in Troy connected with what police described as numerous reports of mail theft from residents.

BIRMINGHAM — After 38 years of service, Chief Mark Clemence has retired from the Birmingham Police Department.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — At only 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 130 pounds, Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety Fire Specialist Sundee Harland didn’t look formidable. But, as she proved time and time again, looks can be deceiving.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is warning residents to lock up their valuables and vehicles as the department has had many reports of vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins recently in Shelby Township and nearby areas.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A freshly sworn-in police dog recently had his day to shine before the public in Sterling Heights.

HAZEL PARK — For the second time in as many months, a threat was made in the Hazel Park Schools district in early January.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — At 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, a dog fell into an open storm sewer on the corner of Harper Avenue and Bon Brae Street.
