SHELBY TOWNSHIP — According to a press release from the Shelby Township Police Department, a fatal traffic crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Aug. 18 in the area of Van Dyke Avenue and Elizabeth Ann Road.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A vehicle that was trying to outrun the cops was reportedly involved in a crash that killed a Sterling Heights woman Aug. 12, Sterling Heights police said.

FARMINGTON HILLS — According to a press release, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that Farmington Hills resident Darius Whitlow, 31, was sentenced on Aug. 1 in Emmet County Circuit Court to 29-60 months in prison for his role in a cellphone theft scheme.
