HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Fire Department’s personnel received an overhaul from the township’s Board of Trustees earlier this month, with four members receiving promotions and one new firefighter getting approval to join at the Oct. 10 meeting.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP —  An 18-year-old man has been accused of a summer crime spree targeting multiple cars and homes in Bloomfield Township and Troy.

WARREN — Five people were injured and transported to the hospital after a three-car crash at the intersection of Van Dyke Avenue and Chicago Road at around 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 15.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A man has been arraigned for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law in her Shelby Township home Oct. 12.

WARREN — A Hazel Park man was arraigned on charges in 37th District Court in Warren on Oct. 3 for his alleged role in the stabbing death of his wife of 15 years.

ROSEVILLE — The Oct. 14 Roseville Fire Department open house has been canceled.

NOVI — A shelter-in-place order was issued at Novi High School Oct. 6 after a threatening note was found at around 11:02 a.m.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot at a home in the 1800 block of Brys Drive at around 12:43 a.m. Oct. 6, allegedly by his own brother.

ROSEVILLE — Community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the Roseville Fire Department when staff holds its annual open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 14.

ORCHARD LAKE — An idea that was conceived of years ago has come to fruition for the city of Orchard Lake.

OAKLAND COUNTY — The county’s affluent neighborhoods have been targeted in what is called a transnational crime ring. Organized and trained thieves have been targeting certain areas of the United States and breaking into homes in search of cash, jewelry, high-end clothing, purses and products.

NOVI — Detective Shawn Penzak, 49, of Canton, was named the 2023 Novi Police Officer of the Year in May, and he said that he wants the public to see officers as people first, rather than as symbols of authority.

EASTPOINTE — The Eastpointe Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Matthew Krent. He hasn’t been seen since Sept. 26, when he was dropped off at Eastland Motel.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened on the morning of Oct. 4.

SOUTHFIELD — “She was beautiful inside and out,” Mia Kanu’s mother, Biana VanMeter, tearfully said at a press conference Southfield police held to update the public about Kanu’s untimely death.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old man was arrested after breaking into a home in Bloomfield Township, claiming he was being chased by spiders, vampires and angels.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Some Shelby Township police officers took time out of their day to help an injured deer that had been called in to them on Sept. 18.
