Adults Shine On
On April 22, the Woodside Bible Church Troy Campus hosted the eighth annual Shine On celebration.

Designed as a prom-like experience for adults with special needs, Shine On welcomed its guests — decked out with crowns and tiaras — with a red-carpet experience. More than 500 adults with special needs enjoyed a memorable afternoon filled with dancing, bingo, karaoke, crafts, a party bus and more.

Over 450 volunteers from nine different Woodside campuses helped to create the experience for members of the community.

Fitness centers ask community to donate during cycling event
Life Time Fitness locations around the Detroit area will host the gym’s third annual Ride of a Life Time charity cycle event Saturday, April 29.

The event will include the Life Time Fitness location in Troy, located at 4700 Investment Drive. The goal of the ride is for people to raise $1.5 million nationwide for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Life Time Foundation.

The ride will take place 8-11 a.m. The event is free to Life Time members, and non-members can purchase a one-day membership to participate. One-day memberships range from $40 to $50.

When those taking part register, they’re given a fundraising page. They then get others to support their ride by donating to the causes through the page. Each rider is asked to fundraise a minimum of $250 for the cause. Those interested can register by contacting their local Life Time Fitness location.
