METRO DETROIT — As of the morning of Nov. 9, media reports declared incumbent Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as the winner in the gubernatorial race, defeating Republican challenger Tudor Dixon. In Macomb County alone, unofficial results of all precincts showed Whitmer getting 51.8% of the vote compared to Dixon’s 46.6%.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Five candidates were competing for three six-year terms on the Lamphere Board of Education in the general election Nov. 8. Paul Cavanaugh came in first with 22.54% (2,367 votes), followed by Ryan McCann at 21.15% (2,221 votes) and Anthony Austin at 19.
