Democrat McGillivray reelected to Oakland County board

OAKLAND COUNTY — Gary McGillivray secured another term representing the 3rd District on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Nov. 8.

McGillivray received 60.42% (16,738 votes), while his Republican opponent Ronald Dwyer took 39.47% (10,934 votes). There were 30 unassigned write-ins. 

District 3 covers the cities of Hazel Park and Madison Heights, and portions of Troy.

The race was for one two-year term. Oakland County commissioners earn a salary of about $36,000.
