Credit union branches to give away free turkeys

METRO DETROIT — Those looking for some help this Thanksgiving may get a helping hand from an unlikely source.

Community Choice Credit Union announced on Nov. 7 that they wish to spread some holiday cheer this November and will have six of its branches giving away free turkeys Friday, Nov. 17.

“A total of 100 turkeys will be given away to visitors at each member center on a first-come, first-served basis at designated times,” Mike Scott, the senior public relations and communications specialist with the credit union said in a press release. “Anyone can ‘gobble’ up these freebies; stop by and grab one turkey per household just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s our way of saying ‘thanks’ to members for accepting us as a trusted partner in their communities.”

The Warren Member Center will give away its turkeys between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. It is located at 7415 Chicago Road in Warren.

The Eastpointe Member Center will have its supply available between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. It is located at 16345 E. 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe.

The Jackson Member Center will give away its turkeys between 9 a.m. and noon. It is located at 1425 W. Parnall Road in Jackson.

The Muskegon - Ellis Member Center’s time period will be between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. It is located at 589 E. Ellis Road in Norton Shores.

The Dearborn Heights Member Center will give away its turkeys between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. It is located at 25555 W. Warren Street in Dearborn Heights.

The Redford Member Center will have its supply available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at 25447 Five Mile Road in Redford.
