ROCHESTER HILLS — Shelley Letzer, 67, of West Bloomfield, was arraigned in 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills Jan. 28 on charges of embezzlement, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced via a press release.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — After Michael Patton retired as the chief of the West Bloomfield Police Department Jan. 10, days later he was appointed as a member of the township’s Board of Trustees.

METRO DETROIT — The year 2025 is going to be picture perfect for Durell Thomas Jr. At press time, the 2022 Harper Woods High School graduate had started his new position as an intern for the Arizona Diamondbacks, based in Phoenix. Thomas, 21, will document the team’s season taking videos and photos of Major League Baseball players.

METRO DETROIT — Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. The credit union will award over $130,000 in scholarships, including 43 scholarships of $2,500 each to help students and educators reach career goals, and 14 scholarships of $2,000 each to support future first responders.
