CENTER LINE — Students in two separate programs at Center Line High School started the 2022-2023 school year with new opportunities.

WARREN — The 160 football players at De La Salle Collegiate High School were on a mission Sept. 16.

WARREN — Warren firefighters responded to a fire in the basement of an apartment building on 10 Mile Road east of Hoover Road Monday morning. At 10:22 a.m. on Sept. 19, Warren firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire at the Cove on 10 apartment complex.

EASTPOINTE/WARREN — Warren City Councilman Eddie Kabacinski was sentenced Sept. 19 for disturbing the peace when he reportedly handcuffed a counterdemonstrator at a rally in support of then-president Donald Trump in October 2020.

CENTER LINE — When Center Line Police Dispatcher John Turpin received a call from a person about a power line down on top of their garage, it was almost like he was at the scene.

WARREN — An arrest has been made after a social media threat closed several schools in the Warren Consolidated School District Sept. 14.

WARREN — Police said a motorcyclist died in a crash in Warren Sept. 13.  At approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Warren police and firefighters were dispatched to the area of 13 Mile and Schoenherr roads for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

WARREN — In response to what he said were numerous complaints from residents, Mayor Jim Fouts has issued an emergency purchase order to fund maintenance at Warren’s city parks.

WARREN — A firefighter was the only person inured during a building fire on Van Dyke Avenue Sept. 2.

MACOMB COUNTY —  As the 2022-2023 school year gets underway, a group of local educators, elected officials and law enforcement personnel met Aug. 23 to discuss school safety.

MACOMB COUNTY — As September rolls around, runners in Macomb County are gearing up for two events aimed at raising money for first responders, military personnel and their families on the anniversary of 9/11.

MACOMB COUNTY — For nearly 50 years, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Marine Sheriff Division has been served by a single boathouse at the eastern edge of Harrison Township. But on Tuesday, Aug. 30, county officials broke ground on a project to replace the aging facility with a brand-new headquarters for the Marine Division. 

WARREN — Two children were hospitalized, one with severe injuries, after being electrocuted by a live wire Aug. 30, according to Warren police.
