WARREN — Youth programs are meant to stand and provide for more than the sport they’re offering. They can provide values, leadership, and confidence, and the Warren Jets have perfected all three.

FARMINGTON HILLS — A mix of senior leadership, chemistry and pure talent is a dynamic trio that continues to be a recipe for success for one Farmington Hills volleyball team.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — It was all smiles for the five honorees as they stood at the 50-yard line at halftime during Macomb L’Anse Creuse High School North’s football game against Port Huron Northern on Sept. 9.

ROYAL OAK — What started as a two-man crew covering basketball, baseball and football has blossomed into more than 50 employees with 150 broadcasts to their name.

BERKLEY — From the high school hardwood to a national stage, a Berkley native has made a name for herself playing basketball locally and overseas.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Sterling Heights Stevenson (1-2) faced a brutal week-one loss to West Bloomfield, but they weren’t going to make the same mistake twice as they hosted St. Clair Shores Lakeview.

FARMINGTON — After dropping its season opener to Ypsilanti Lincoln, Farmington responded with impressive showings in back-to-back games.

TROY — On what felt like one of the hottest days of the summer, there sat a dugout full of baseball players who nobody heard a single complaint from.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Consistency is key, and Madison Heights Bishop Foley’s football team has been nothing short of consistent in its last four seasons.

GROSSE POINTES — Family and football are two things that have always seemed to coincided.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — This isn’t the St. Clair Shores South Lake (3-0) of years past. Aside from its usual athletic talent, South Lake football coach Vincent Phillips has constructed a roster where its physicality matches its athleticism.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Eighteen-year-old Braydin Lewis, whose family lives in Angola, Indiana, was continuing his hockey career with the Mount Clemens Metro Jets in the U.S. Premier Hockey League back in March of 2022.

SOUTHFIELD — In one of the school’s biggest accomplishments since establishing an athletic program in 2012, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics named Lawrence Technological University the recipient of the Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award.

CLAWSON — What started as a bridge between Oakland County FC and its fans has become a competitive match, when it comes to the annual  Staff vs. Supporters game, which recently held its third edition.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Fifty-six. In just two games this season, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek (2-0) has averaged 56 points per game behind senior running back Jon Fogler.

GROSSE POINTES — Grosse Pointe North knew it would have a test when it went to face Warren Mott Sept. 1 at Warren Mott High School.

METRO DETROIT — It’s consistently the talk of Major League Baseball. Every year it seems there’s a major blow to a pennant-chasing team as its ace is shut down for the year due to Tommy John surgery.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Clinton Township Chippewa Valley (2-0) was dominant in every aspect of its 42-7 victory over Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse on Sept. 1 at Chippewa Valley High School.

BIRMINGHAM — After a scoreless first half in a football contest at Birmingham Seaholm High School Sept. 1, a second half showdown between Seaholm and U-of-D Jesuit would be one for the books.
