ROSEVILLE — A stretch of downtown Roseville is set for some updates.

BIRMINGHAM — The city of Birmingham recently received a grant from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments for a road safety audit of the intersection of Maple Road and Eton Street.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Commuters who rely on taking the Clinton River Road bridge over M-53 will have to make alternative plans.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Hot off the heels of the massive “Modernize I-75” initiative that ensnarled traffic in and around Madison Heights for years, the Michigan Department of Transportation is finalizing plans for the last leg of another freeway project.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The expansion on Garfield Road is far from over, and not even the existing roadway is safe from the call of the construction barrels.

EASTPOINTE — Last month, Eastpointe was awarded one of eight grants by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, or SEMCOG, to conduct formal safety performance examinations of existing or planned roads and intersections.

ROCHESTER HILLS — A portion of Walton Boulevard is down to two lanes due to construction, which means traffic delays for many motorists in Rochester Hills.

CLAWSON — At the April 2 Clawson City Council meeting, Chief of Police Kellie Bauss presented a proposal asking the council to consider purchasing four Flock Safety Falcon cameras.

NOVI — A rollover semitruck crash that occurred at around 1:25 a.m April 18 will result in the closure of eastbound Interstate 96 near Beck Road this evening.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — This month, the Michigan Department of Transportation will begin rebuilding the Interstate-75 business loop, which comprises Square Lake Road from Woodward Avenue to I-75 in Bloomfield Township.

EASTPOINTE — The “road diet” plan to change Nine Mile Road from five lanes to three lanes between Pleasant and Tuscany avenues has been nixed.

NOVI — Orange flowers, aka construction barrels, are blooming again this year as construction of the Interstate 96 Flex Route returns for a third and final season, along with several other construction projects.

GROSSE POINTE CITY — Additional work needs to be done before a Neff Road project can be completed in Grosse Pointe City.

METRO DETROIT — Road salt usage is down 37% this winter among Michigan’s 9,700 miles of trunkline highways.

MACOMB COUNTY — Closing parts of M-53 throughout this year’s construction season might mean detours or fewer open lanes, but it will extend the highway’s lifespan for years to come, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

SOUTHFIELD — The Road Commission for Oakland County and the city of Southfield will host a public information meeting about the 2024 resurfacing of 12 Mile Road from Telegraph Road to Northwestern Highway 4:30-7 p.m. Feb. 15 at Adlai Stevenson Elementary School, 27777 Lahser Road.
