HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees met for its second time in the month Oct.24, where the items of discussion included court budgets, sign appeals and liquor licenses.

METRO DETROIT — Oakland County officials are crying foul after a resolution was passed by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners, laying the blame for poor water quality reports on the neighboring jurisdiction.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees had a lengthy meeting on Oct. 24, hearing three presentations and completing other items of business.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Changes to recreation programs in Mount Clemens held top billing as Mayor Laura Kropp delivered her 2022 State of the City address at the Cairns Community Center on Oct. 14.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — Macomb Township officials approved a set of additions to the Riverview Estates sanitary sewer trunkline at the Oct. 12 Board of Trustees meeting.

NOVI — Carvana LLC was denied its request for a temporary restraining order against the Secretary of State by the Michigan Court of Claims Oct. 19.

GROSSE POINTE CITY — In keeping with a state mandate regarding lead water lines, Grosse Pointe City has hired a contractor to inspect and determine the nature of water service material inside select homes and buildings.

GROSSE POINTE PARK — In the final regular Grosse Pointe Park City Council meeting before the Nov. 8 election, officials once again clashed over a proposed water and sewer infrastructure millage in front of voters.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Bloomfield Township was awarded $4.4 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to help alleviate some of the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.

BIRMINGHAM — As the leaves start to fall onto lawns, residents and lawn service companies are starting to fire up their leaf blowers to maintain properties throughout the community.

MACOMB COUNTY — The Macomb County Public Works Office has announced the launch of a new underground infrastructure project aimed at reducing the number of discharges of combined sewer overflows into Lake St. Clair.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees passed a resolution to support a Detroit Institute of Arts “Partners in Public Art” project in the township at its Oct. 11 meeting.

EASTPOINTE — The city of Eastpointe is working with county and state offices to assist residents after a survey of 30 homes found lead levels in drinking water in five of the homes exceeded the state’s action level.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The city of Farmington Hills recently hosted two “Cannabis Conversations,” with members of the public given the opportunity to express their opinions about whether commercial marijuana facilities should be permitted in the city.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Residents filled a boardroom and spilled out into the hallway during a West Bloomfield Township Planning Commission meeting Oct. 11.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Since 2014, the Information Technology Advisory Committee has advised the Madison Heights City Council on ways to modernize the city’s operations. Over the past year, that has included cloud-based data management and other cybersecurity measures that will help protect the city against privacy breaches and data theft.

NOVI — The license of the Carvana dealership in Novi was suspended Oct. 7 by the Michigan Department of State as a result of several alleged violations of the Michigan Vehicle Code.
