GROSSE POINTE SHORES — Some well-meaning animal lovers in Grosse Pointe Shores are causing unintentional problems for their neighbors.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — Master plan recommendations from Grosse Pointe Farms’ planning consultants with McKenna Associates are expected to be made during the next City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 10.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — Macomb Township Treasurer Leon Drolet presented a report on township finances to the Board of Trustees at the Sept. 28 meeting.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees unanimously voted to reject the bid for the Civic Center’s parking lot repair project at its Monday, Sept. 26, meeting.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Estate sales can now last for three consecutive days, among other changes decided on by the Bloomfield Hills City Commission at a Sept. 13 meeting.

HAZEL PARK — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently made appointments to a variety of state boards and commissions, and Luke Londo, a member of the Hazel Park City Council, is one of them.

MOUNT CLEMENS — The Mount Clemens City Commission met Sept. 19th, spending much time responding to public comment and completing regular board items.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — At its Sept. 26 meeting, the Harrison Township Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve repairing bike paths throughout the township.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb Township Board of Trustees approved a series of infrastructure projects throughout the township at its meeting Sept. 14.

ROCHESTER — Interim City Manager Nik Banda has been named the new official city manager of the city of Rochester, after Tecumseh City Manager Dan Swallow reportedly turned down the job.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — An agreement between Grosse Pointe Farms and the Country Club of Detroit is paving the way for a sewer separation project that officials hope will greatly reduce the chances of future basement flooding and sewage backups.

STERLING HEIGHTS/ROCHESTER HILLS — Sterling Heights’ longtime city planner has found new career plans.

MOUNT CLEMENS — The Mount Clemens City Commission set water and sewer utility rates for the 2022-2023 fiscal year at its meeting on Sept. 6.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Auditors from Plante Moran presented a report of Clinton Township’s 2021-2022 fiscal year financial statements to the township board of trustees at its meeting on Sept. 12, giving the statements the highest praise of an “unmodified opinion.”

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees heard another marijuana business license appeal at its Sept. 12 meeting.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb Township Board of Trustees raised the minimum age for tobacco sales at the end of its Wednesday, Aug. 24, meeting.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — On the evening of July 30, West Bloomfield Township officials and department heads received a call from West Bloomfield Police Chief Michael Patton.

EASTPOINTE — The Eastpointe City Council’s Sept. 6 meeting ended after less than 20 minutes when four of the council’s five members stood up and left during the meeting’s first hearing of the public.

MADISON HEIGHTS — The city of Madison Heights is currently updating its zoning ordinance — the document that guides land use — while also working toward a special status through the state that would provide access to new resources for growth.
