BIRMINGHAM — As they prepare to develop a historic preservation master plan, the city of Birmingham’s Historic District Commission is seeking public feedback.

FERNDALE — A new art fair will be debuting in Ferndale next month centered around the printmakers of Michigan.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Gardner White, Henry Ford Health and the American Heart Association teamed up Feb. 22 to mark American Heart Month by offering hands-only CPR and automated external defibrillator training sessions to the public for free at the Gardner White store on Hall Road in Shelby Township.

FARMINGTON — A 20-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting an 80-year-old man at a YMCA located at 28100 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills March 1.

EASTPOINTE — A 62-year-old man was found guilty by a jury Feb. 23 of murdering two of his neighbors at an Eastpointe apartment complex in 2022.

FARMINGTON HILLS — A development proposal that has caused concern among some residents was addressed at a Farmington Hills Planning Commission meeting Feb. 15.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Sterling Heights’ quest to keep its streets safer from speeders has taken another lap.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The last meeting of a politically deadlocked group brought one final flash-up on Feb. 26 as the  Clinton Township Board of Trustees voted 3-3 on paying the bills for the State of Clinton Township address.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Earlier this year, the city of Madison Heights completed negotiations with its labor unions for an increase in wages and benefits that officials say reflect a positive dialogue between the two sides.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Voters in Bloomfield Township hit the polls Feb. 27 to decide a millage renewal for the Bloomfield Township Library, with the measure passing by over 72%, according to unofficial election results from the Oakland County Elections Division.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — St. Germaine Catholic School has hit both of its fundraising goals and is still working on its enrollment goal of 150 students.

ROCHESTER — Voters in the Rochester Community Schools district hit the polls Feb. 27 to decide on the renewal of a non-homestead school operating millage, with the measure passing by 74%, according to unofficial election results from Oakland and Macomb counties.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Republican Dan Kress won the Feb. 27 election for the open Clinton Township Board of Trustees seat for a partial term which will be up for election again this November. Kress won with a 51.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Local firefighters, Macomb County officials and others recently moved into action to keep a semi-truck’s diesel spill from becoming a major environmental threat to local watercourses. 

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — A man accused of stealing credit cards was later also charged with fleeing and eluding after eventually turning himself in to police.

WARREN — Two Warren men have been charged following a fatal crash at 10 Mile and Ryan roads on Feb. 25.

MACOMB COUNTY — Although inflation has decreased in recent months, “I don’t know if we’re out of the woods,” said Thomas Alongi, a partner with the UHY accounting firm, in Sterling Heights.
