CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and fatal shooting that occurred in the early afternoon on Thursday, Feb. 20.
According to police, a preliminary investigation of the incident found that a male suspect in his 30s entered Golden Donuts, located at 34155 Harper Ave., and allegedly brandished a firearm while demanding cash. An employee is believed to have shot the suspect, who fled and was later found by police a short distance from the Golden Donuts. The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Detectives interviewed the employee and released him pending further investigation. The case remains active and anyone with information is asked to call the Clinton Township Police Department at (586) 493-7857.
