STERLING HEIGHTS — A northern gateway along Sterling Heights’ border could soon look nicer after a majority of the Sterling Heights City Council voted to approve a plan to replace its fencing.

STERLING HEIGHTS — The long-term plans for the Lakeside City Center could truly put the “heights” in Sterling Heights.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — At its meeting on Oct. 7, the St. Clair Shores City Council voted 6-1 to deny site plan approval for a Kroger gas station on Harper Avenue at Nine Mile Road.

UTICA — A brand-new interactive gaming and activities center called Activate has opened in Utica.

FRANKLIN — In November, voters will see a proposal to approve or deny a new liquor license in the village. Gray Dog Café LLC plans to open in 2025 and is requesting a Class C on-premises liquor license at its future location, 32644 Franklin Road.

ROSEVILLE — John Saylor was a junior high school student living in Roseville when Macomb Mall first opened in 1964 at Gratiot Avenue and Masonic Boulevard.

ROYAL OAK — Two muralists have been approved to start painting in the downtown area after the unanimous decision of the City Commission at its Sept. 23 meeting.

BERKLEY — Plans to open a gun shop in downtown Berkley have been abandoned after outcry from residents.

ROSEVILLE — Roseville is the latest Michigan city to get a Chick-fil-A location. The new popular poultry location, which had its grand opening Oct. 3, is at the intersection of Masonic Boulevard and Gratiot Avenue.
