METRO DETROIT — The beloved singer-songwriter Elton John comes to life through the talent and passion of Captain Fantastic Detroit, an Elton John tribute act.

HAZEL PARK — Nearly 100 artists and crafters will set up shop at Green Acres Park for the 2024 Hazel Park Art Fair, alongside other offerings such as pottery demonstrations, stilt walkers, aerial performers, yoga classes, and food trucks.

UTICA — The Utica Parks and Recreation Department will be bringing people a chance to find all types of treasures at its Trash 2 Treasure event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Grant Park.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — In a little more than a week, artists will be unveiling their greatest creations at the Shelby Township Art Fair, which will be celebrating its 41st anniversary this year.

FARMINGTON — This year’s version of the Farmington Founders Festival, which was the 60th edition of the event, has received a mixed bag of feedback.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Earlier this summer, Pizza Palooza gave people a chance to enjoy some local pizza while helping a local family fundraise for the treatment of their young son with autism.

METRO DETROIT — Over the weekend of Memorial Day, a very delicate ecological operation took place. Two peregrine falcon chicks were removed from a nest at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and rehomed within Mount Clemens’ Old Macomb County Building.

BEVERLY HILLS — As WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan toured Michigan promoting a new brew, called Real American Beer, he stopped by the Beverage Warehouse in Beverly Hills July 24.

METRO DETROIT — Emagine Entertainment Inc. guests are being asked to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan to help offset the cost of their yearly membership for local youth. 

FARMINGTON — CARES,  a nonprofit food pantry based in Farmington Hills, is scheduled to host its third annual Duck Race  next month. The event is slated to kick off with a picnic and movie night in Shiawassee Park.
