DETROIT/WARREN — Honk your horns: This year’s annual Detroit Autorama is celebrating a milestone.

ROSEVILLE — For the past year, local filmmaker Keith Famie and his film crew have traveled to various locations to interview classic car owners for Famie’s documentary, “Detroit: The City of Hot Rods & Muscle Cars.”

NOVI — The Great Train Show provided local model railroad enthusiasts with a chance to purchase a vast variety of train paraphernalia and to see extremely talented hobbyists in action when it pulled into Novi Jan. 21-22 at the Suburban Collection Showplace.

ROYAL OAK — Winter Blast Royal Oak soon will be making its return to the city for its second year.

UTICA — The city of Utica has purchased a new art piece to decorate the downtown.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — While “Brighton Beach Memoirs” and “Biloxi Blues” are fairly well known, the third of playwright Neil Simon’s Eugene trilogy, “Broadway Bound,” isn’t as familiar to audiences.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Gardeners Club will be hosting a spring gardening presentation at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 for all gardening enthusiasts with presenter Marilyn Trent from the Rochester Pollinators.

STERLING HEIGHTS — The Sterling Coffeehouse concert series is coming back with a mostly new blend of talent in February and March.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — This year marks the third year the St. Clair Shores social district will be available for residents and others to enjoy. It will be available to patrons starting in May and will last through October.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Seven years have passed since West Bloomfield resident Lori Klisman Ellis first learned of the horrors that her mom endured as a Holocaust survivor.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — After being involved in a car accident in 1995, West Bloomfield resident Adrienne Matthews started to have headaches so severe that she would sometimes make trips to the hospital for IV pain medication.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — Shrek the ogre doesn’t want anyone in his swamp, but Dakota High School invites everyone into theirs.

MOUNT CLEMENS — A group of local comedians will serve up laughs Feb. 11 while giving back to the community.
