NOVI — The third annual Fall Motor City Comic Con Nov. 8-10 took over the Suburban Collection showplace in Novi and provided the perfect opportunity for people to cosplay as their favorite comic book, film or television heroes.

NOVI — Novi residents voted in the Nov. 5 election to not only choose a president, but also their county commissioners, state representative and school board members. This resulted in some changes, as a few incumbents were ousted.

NOVI — A local fitness instructor has been credited with saving a man’s life after he suffered a heart attack while playing tennis at the Novi Athletic Club Oct. 18.

SOUTHFIELD — A 70-year-old woman died in a condo fire the afternoon of Nov. 4.

SOUTHFIELD — At its Oct. 28 meeting, the Southfield City Council voted unanimously against a Kroger gas station proposal for 19991 W. 12 Mile Road, at the former Bank of America building.

LATHRUP VILLAGE — On Nov. 5, Lathrup Village residents were presented with two cannabis proposals, one to repeal the prohibition of cannabis establishments within the boundaries of the city and one to authorize and allow cannabis businesses and establish fees and regulations for two cannabis retail facilities.

SOUTHFIELD/LATHRUP VILLAGE — In the Nov. 5 election, two candidates ran for one six-year judgeship of the 46th District Court, with  incumbent Debra Nance coming out on top.

TROY — The city of Troy hosted its annual Troy Veterans Day Ceremony at Troy Veterans Plaza, in front of City Hall, to honor and remember the service of all United States military veterans.

TROY — Seven candidates ran for three six-year Troy Public Schools Board of Education terms Nov. 5, with three newcomers outperforming three incumbents to earn spots on the board.

TROY — Data scientist Mark Trudeau and podiatrist Dr. Sadegh Arab have co-authored “There’s a Food for That,” a guide that provides information on some of the different foods that can assist with treating the top 100 diseases and conditions affecting Americans.

TROY — For musicians with any level of band experience, the Heritage Concert Band of Troy provides multiple opportunities to come together and perform.

MOUNT CLEMENS — A 36-year-old Macomb Township man is facing cases in the 41A and 41B district courts after his arrest on Oct. 29.

CLAWSON — Through the Senior Planet licensing program, seniors in Clawson are going to have more access to technology and learn about how it can enhance their lives.

ROCHESTER HILLS — If you’ve ever been to Romeo High School, home of the Bulldogs, you’ve seen the bulldog statue near the football field.

 District champions have been crowned and players are shining on the brightest stage as the Michigan High School Athletic Association football playoffs continue on.
