ROSEVILLE — Construction on Gratiot Avenue is closing the ramps from the road to westbound Interstate 94.
The ramps were both scheduled to be closed starting at 7 a.m. July 26, after press time. The northbound Gratiot Avenue ramp to westbound I-94 is expected to be closed through late August, while the southbound Gratiot Avenue ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed through mid-September, according to a press release from the Michigan Department of Transportation.
MDOT suggests that drivers use the nearby Little Mack Avenue ramp to enter westbound I-94.
In other Gratiot Avenue construction news, eastbound 14 Mile Road will remain closed at Gratiot through early August, but westbound 14 Mile Road was to reopen at Gratiot on July 22. The detour for eastbound 14 Mile Road traffic is to take Groesbeck Highway south to Masonic Boulevard and drive east to Harper Avenue and take it north back to 14 Mile Road.
The construction is part of the second year of the two-year project to rebuild 3 miles of M-3 between 11 Mile and 14 Mile roads in Roseville.
The project is expected to be completed by late fall.
