ROCHESTER HILLS — Detectives from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a mother and her daughter were found dead inside a Rochester Hills residence June 27.
At 8:39 p.m., the Oakland County Sheriff’s Emergency Operations Center received a call from an address on Stratford Lane reporting that two women were deceased inside the residence.
Upon arrival, detectives found the bodies of the 50-year-old daughter and the 75-year-old mother in a bedroom. The deaths were from gunshot wounds, according to reports.
Deputies met with the husband and father of the victims — who said he had gone to the residence to check the well-being of the two women, who reportedly both suffered from “ongoing medical issues.”
The investigation revealed that the daughter had a history of suicide attempts, so the mother had moved into her daughter’s residence to care for her.
Detectives are working to rule out foul play, but they believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the community.
