MOUNT CLEMENS — City commissioners approved a new law enforcement services contract with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at their Sept. 16 meeting, while officials and residents had much to say about the laws they want to see enforced going forward.

KEEGO HARBOR — The last two times that Keego Harbor placed a police millage on the ballot, the proposals failed — in 2022 and last year.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Approximately five years ago, the West Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees commissioned a real estate study to ascertain what kind of developments would be best suited for West Bloomfield, and according to Steven Kaplan, who is the township’s supervisor, the answer was surprising.

WARREN — Mayor Lori Stone announced the hiring of Eric Hawkins as the Warren Police Department’s new commissioner in a press release Sept. 18.

MADISON HEIGHTS — In recent years, officials in Madison Heights have been focused on securing grants for enhancements around town.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Earlier this month, the city of Madison Heights launched a program where residents can drop off food waste at the Department of Public Services so that it can be converted into compost — a nutrient-rich material used as fertilizer for plants.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Oakland County officials have pushed back against accusations that the county has been dumping untreated sewage into the Clinton River and, ultimately, into Lake St. Clair.
