SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Fine Art Society will be bringing its art to the Shelby Township Library once again for residents to view and admire. The show will run from Nov. 2 to 22.
Sara Katsavrias, the president of the Shelby Township Fine Art Society, said it will be a perfect opportunity for residents to check out the new library, which opened June 25, at the same time that they check out the art.
“We will have numerous artists showing their works. There will be about 65 pieces included in the show. I would encourage all to come and check out their favorite Shelby-area artist. The show will be judged by a very accomplished Romeo artist, Christina Haylett. We are excited to have her,” she said in an email.
The artists will be judged, and the first-, second- and third-place works in the show, as well as three honorable mentions, will earn ribbons and cash awards.
“I would encourage all to come and enjoy our show. We have a lot of talent to share,” said Katsavrias.
Diane Mueller, the publicity director of the Shelby Township Fine Art Society, said that organizers will not be setting up the show until later in the day on Nov. 1.
“All the work will be hanging and judged on Nov. 2 when the show starts. The Shelby Fine Art Society will have a juried show of their work on display with many pieces for sale at the Shelby Library from Nov. 2 through Nov. 22. Great way to see the new library and enjoy some great art,” she said via email.
The library is located at 52610 Van Dyke Ave. on the township’s municipal campus.
