STERLING HEIGHTS — The Philip S. Killoran Chapter of the National Honor Society at Sterling Heights High School is again partnering with Friends of Foster Kids for its annual Trunk or Treat fundraiser.
The indoor/outdoor event will be held 6-9 p.m. Oct. 27 at Sterling Heights High School, 12901 15 Mile Road. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged. During the event, candy will be handed out in trunk-or-treat style.
The Trunk or Treat is free to attend. In addition, there will be carnival games that require tickets to participate; the cost is $5 per 20 tickets. Also available is a “haunted hallway,” which is $5 per entry. Scan the QR code to register. Trunkers must arrive an hour before the event starts.
Friends of Foster Kids was founded by Theresa Toia, who works with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to help foster children in southeastern Michigan who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.
The NHS students would like to host at least 20 trunkers and raised over $10,000. Community members who would like to participate either as a vendor, a trunker or a sponsor may contact the chapter advisor, Jennifer Huyghe, at huyghe@wcskids.net or at (586) 825-2700, ext. 14217.
