Absentee ballots to be sent out Sept. 28
The city of Novi will begin sending out absentee ballots Sept. 28 for the Nov. 7 election. To obtain an absentee ballot, residents can apply online at mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index.
To request an application by mail, contact the City Clerk’s Office at (248) 347-0456. Residents can also apply for an absentee ballot in person by visiting the City Clerk’s Office on the second floor of the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. 10 Mile Road.
SMART bus service expands into Novi, Wixom
The Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation has now expanded bus service into Novi and Wixom. As of Sept. 11, routes 305, 740 and 805 have stops in Novi and Wixom.
Route 305 travels along Grand River Avenue and now includes stops at Suburban Collection Showplace, Town Center Drive, the 52-1 District Court, West Market, and the Meijer off of Grand River and Wixom Road.
Route 740 travels along 12 Mile Road and now includes stops at Twelve Oaks Mall, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Grand River Avenue and Novi Road, the 52-1 District Court and West Market, and will also go to the Meier Express gas station.
Route 805 travels down Farmington Road to service Farmington and Novi. The route has stops at Grand River Avenue and Haggerty Road, Twelve Oaks Mall, and 12 Mile Road and West Park Drive, and goes to the Michigan Department of Transportation carpool lot at 12 Mile and Beck roads.
City to host group travel fair
Local travel agents will be on hand 1:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. 10 Mile Road, to discuss the many trips they have available for purchase and to answer questions. Participants will be entered in a raffle for a door prize.
Novi homeowners association leaders breakfast
The city of Novi is hosting a breakfast for leaders of local homeowners associations. The HOA Breakfast will be held 8-10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. 10 Mile Road. HOA leaders will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with each other, as well as members of the City Council and city staff. Register for the breakfast at cityofnovi.org.
ITC conducting aerial patrols of transmission lines
ITC Holdings Corp. announced that it is conducting aerial patrols of its high-voltage transmission lines in the state through Oct. 11. ITC uses helicopters to inspect the transmission system and look for damaged equipment and vegetation hazards. The inspections in Oakland County are scheduled for Oct. 9-11.
