ROSEVILLE — Two major cross streets are closing in Roseville as a result of the ongoing Gratiot Avenue construction project.
Little Mack Avenue was closed at Gratiot Avenue July 5 and will remain closed until Monday, July 18.
On July 8, 14 Mile Road will be closed at Gratiot Avenue and will remain closed until Thursday, July 21.
Both closures are to allow the intersections to be rebuilt.
The work is being done as part of the second year of the two-year project, which is aimed at rebuilding 3 miles of Gratiot Avenue between 11 Mile and 14 Mile roads in Roseville. Work on the second year of the project began earlier this year.
As traffic will not be able to turn onto Little Mack Avenue, northbound Little Mack Avenue traffic will be routed westbound on Masonic Boulevard to reach Gratiot, and southbound Gratiot traffic will be routed eastbound on Masonic Boulevard to reach Little Mack Avenue.
In addition, as traffic will not be permitted to turn onto 14 Mile Road from Gratiot, eastbound 14 Mile Road traffic will take southbound Groesbeck Highway to eastbound Masonic Boulevard, then northbound on Harper Avenue to return to 14 Mile Road.
Westbound 14 Mile Road traffic will take southbound Harper Avenue to westbound Masonic Boulevard, then northbound Groesbeck Highway to return to 14 Mile Road.
The ongoing Gratiot Avenue work is expected to be completed by late fall.
