Warren Woods Tower to host first Crosstown Classic basketball games

Eight city teams to play in 4 games Dec. 14

Warren Woods Tower will be the home of several local basketball teams when it hosts the Crosstown Classic Dec. 14.

Eight local teams will square off in four games that will take place at Tower Dec. 14.

The host Titans will battle Warren De La Salle at 7 p.m.; Warren Mott will take on Warren Cousino at 5 p.m.; Warren Fitzgerald and Center Line will tangle at 3 p.m.; and Warren Michigan Collegiate will do battle with Warren Lincoln at 1 p.m.

The 2013-14 regular season began Dec. 9.

Admission for the event is $7 for adults, $5 for children age 12 and under, and $5 for students with ID.

T-shirts touting the event are available, as well, according to Tower Athletic Director Jordan Ackerman. The shirts are $15 if purchased the day of the games or $10 if pre-ordered by Dec. 11. To pre-order, email Ackerman at

Farmington Hills Harrison

Farmington Hills Harrison earned the honor after beating Southfield High 17-14 at home in a battle for first place in the Oakland Activities Association White Division. The win put the Hawks 4-0 (4-1 overall) in the division, a game ahead of Southfield. After trailing 14-7 at the half, Harrison scored 10 unanswered points, capped off by a 27-yard field goal by Alex Bolstrum with 10:57 left in the game. In the last four meetings between these rivals, each team has won twice with a 4.5 average margin of victory.
