Police believe a Troy man charged with sexually abusing a 17-year-old runaway and taking videos of the two engaging in sexual activity may have harmed others, and police are asking them to come forward.
Police were called to the home of Christopher George Hill, 48, Feb. 4,in the area of John R and South Boulevard, after a neighbor called to report that a female in the Troy home was being attacked or beaten, Troy police Sgt. Andy Breidenich said.
Police discovered a 17-year-old girl hiding in the basement of the home. She had a bruise on her head and minor injuries on her neck and arms, possibly indicating a struggle, police said.
Officers found numerous items of sexually provocative material in the home and a camera with a tri-pod set up, according to reports. Police talked with Hill, who reportedly said he knew the girl was 17. He said she was a runaway and that she had been staying with him since November.
He also reportedly told police he took nude photos of the 17-year-old and videos of the two of them engaging in sex, and he transferred the images to a computer and an external hard drive.
The 17-year-old told police that Hill assaulted her Feb. 4 after she would not consent to have sex with him. Police obtained a search warrant and confiscated computers, computer hard drives, a camera, a smartphone and unspecified sexual materials.
Police conducted extensive forensic examination of Hill’s computer equipment and found multiple images depicting sexual conduct between him and the 17-year-old, according to reports. Breidenich could not say if the videos showed Hill having sexual relations with anyone other the 17-year-old.
Breidenich could not say whether Hill has a previous criminal record. Oakland County Circuit Court records indicate that a personal protection order against Hill was issued in December 2007.
Hill was arraigned in 52-4 District Court March 15 on three counts of child sexually abusive activity, each count a 20-year felony; three counts of using a computer to commit a crime, each count of which carries 20 years to life; two counts of third-degree of criminal sexual conduct, each a 15-year felony; and one count of domestic violence, a 93-day misdemeanor.
Bond was set at $20,000 for each count of child sexual abuse, $20,000 for each count of using a computer to commit a crime, $20,000 for each count of criminal sexual conduct and $5,000 for domestic violence, cash/surety in each case.
Hill appeared in court without an attorney.
“Because of the circumstances of the victim being a runaway, this may have been something he engaged in at other times,” Breidenich said.
Police are asking for help in locating any other possible victims in this case. Call police at (248) 524-3450.
